Job Description

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an Electrical Switchgear & Low Voltage Breaker Test Technician for immediate hire on nationwide project-based assignments. Work with a fast-growing company supporting hyperscale data centers, mission-critical infrastructure, and industrial power systems. PAY:
$30-$65+/hr. (based upon experience & certifications)
HOURS:
Expected shifts will be 8-10 hour days starting at 7AM
SCHEDULE
Expected work will be Monday-Friday; approximately 40-60 hours/week

Electrical Switchgear & Low Voltage Breaker Test Technician Job Description:
Technicians will perform testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of low voltage electrical distribution systems in data centers, industrial facilities, and mission-critical environments. Responsibilities include testing and servicing low voltage switchgear, air circuit breakers (ACBs), molded case circuit breakers (MCCBs), and associated power distribution equipment.
Responsibilities include:
Performing acceptance, maintenance, and commissioning testing Conducting insulation resistance (Megger) testing Performing contact resistance testing (DLRO/Ductor) Conducting primary and secondary injection testing Functional trip testing and verification of protective device settings Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues in breakers and switchgear Reading and interpreting one-lines, schematics, and manufacturer manuals Completing field reports, test documentation, and QA/QC forms Following
LOTO, NFPA
70E, and all site-specific safety procedures Qualifications for
Electrical Switchgear & Low Voltage Breaker Test Technician:
3+ years of experience in electrical testing, commissioning, or field service Experience testing and troubleshooting: Low voltage switchgear Air circuit breakers (ACBs) Molded case circuit breakers (MCCBs) Strong understanding of low voltage distribution systems (480V and below) Experience using: Megger insulation testers DLRO/Ductor test equipment Primary injection test sets Ability to read and interpret: One-line diagrams Schematics Electrical prints and OEM manuals Experience working in data centers, substations, or mission-critical environments preferred
OSHA 30, NFPA
70E, NETA, NICET, or OEM certifications preferred Ability to travel extensively nationwide (80-100%) Must be able to safely use hand/power tools and PPE Must be able to perform job duties that require standing, crouching, twisting upper body, climbing ladders, working around energized equipment, and lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted Position requires the use of PPE including: steel toe work boots, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, arc flash PPE, and hearing protection Additional Requirements for

Must be eligible to work in the United States Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license Applicants may be subject to pre-employment drug screen and background screening
