JOB SUMMARY

Core Lab is seeking an Engineering Technician for our ProTechnics division. This role involves hands-on work in building, assembling, testing, calibrating, and maintaining electronic and mechanical equipment. The technician will diagnose failures, qualify components, and suggest design improvements. Responsibilities include bench and oven testing, high-temperature soldering, and using diagnostic tools like oscilloscopes and multimeters.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Build and assemble electronic circuit boards according to specifications. Assemble various tools and equipment required for operations. Perform bench and oven testing to evaluate equipment performance. Calibrate equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards. Conduct repair and maintenance of both mechanical and electrical equipment. Test and qualify components to verify functionality and reliability. Apply troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and resolve equipment failures. Provide recommendations for design improvements based on testing and analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED required. 5+ years of relevant experience. Experience in diagnostics, repair, calibration, and temperature testing. Oil field industry experience is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Proficiency with electronic test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, etc.) Strong soldering skills (SMT hand soldering);

IPC-J-STD-001 CIS

Certification preferred. Familiarity with mechanical tools (drill press, lathe, mill). Solid troubleshooting and deductive reasoning abilities. Effective written and verbal communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee may be asked to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes. The employee may also be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
