Electronic (Using your CalCareer Account) Job Description and Duties Under the general direction of the Office Chief of COS Management, a Supervising Transportation Engineer, the Quality Control Manager provides technical support to the Project Management staff, assists the Deputy District Director for Program/Project Management (PPM) to coordinate project priorities, assures workplan quality, and manages the District's allocation of Capital Outlay Support (COS) resources. The incumbent plans and manages the annual delivery plan at a programmatic level to ensure a successful delivery and to meet agreed commitments by Fiscal Year. The incumbent manages the COS resources allocation and helps facilitate the crossover allocation/sub-allocation process with other Divisions, attends District Status Meetings, and analyzes engineering project delivery issues, project schedules, track project progress, provide status reports, and monitor capital and support costs. The incumbent manages various Project Management databases. The Quality Control Manager is expected to achieve results through others while working in a matrix organization. Incumbent will work in a climate-controlled office building under artificial lighting or at a remote location. Periodic problems with heating and air-conditioning may result in fluctuating building temperature and changes in air circulation. Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
Occasional travel may be required. Possession of a valid driver's license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle.
