This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful community developments while collaborating with industry professionals in a fast-paced engineering environment. Key Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE). California Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Civil or Traffic Engineering required. Minimum of 4-5 years of traffic engineering experience, or equivalent industry experience totaling 9-10 years. At least 3 years of management experience supervising traffic designers, CAD drafters, and technical staff. Strong leadership, independent decision-making, and supervisory capabilities. Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, public agencies, and internal teams. Recent experience working on Southern California traffic engineering projects, preferably within the San Diego County region. Management Responsibilities Lead and supervise traffic engineering design teams. Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. Prepare contracts, scopes of work, and fee proposals. Coordinate with clients, municipalities, and public agencies throughout project delivery. Support business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships. Technical Responsibilities Provide municipal traffic engineering services and in-house engineering support. Prepare and process final traffic engineering plans, including: Traffic signal plans Traffic control plans Signing and striping plans Conduct Traffic Impact Analyses and prepare technical studies and reports. Participate in traffic planning and transportation improvement projects. Transit planning and design experience is considered a plus. Desired Technical Skills Proficiency with traffic engineering software such as HCS, Vistro, Synchro, and related analysis tools.
