Job Description

Highway Project Engineer Location:
Glastonbury, CT A well-established, 100% employee-owned engineering firm is seeking an experienced Highway Project Engineer to join its growing transportation team. This is a strong opportunity for a career-oriented professional looking to step into a visible role with long-term growth, project ownership, and a collaborative, performance-driven culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on transportation infrastructure projects Lead the development of roadway and transportation design plans Serve as a task lead and contribute to mentoring junior staff Prepare full design packages or key components of larger projects Perform quality control reviews to ensure project accuracy and compliance Participate in client meetings and represent the firm in external settings
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering PE license required 5-10 years of roadway design and transportation engineering experience Experience working with State DOTs; municipal experience a plus Exposure to Complete Streets or multimodal design preferred Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads Strong communication skills and ability to interface with clients Experience with proposals, scope development, and budgeting is a plus This role offers strong visibility, leadership track potential, and the benefits of an employee-owned environment.
