Job Description
Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to support and deliver infrastructure projects for Miami‑Dade County, FDOT, and other state and local public agencies. This role focuses on the structural design and evaluation of transportation and public works facilities, including bridges, retaining walls, buildings, and ancillary transportation structures.
The ideal candidate will have experience working on Florida public‑sector projects and will thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment supporting high‑impact infrastructure across South Florida.
Key ResponsibilitiesStructural Design & AnalysisPerform structural analysis and design for public infrastructure projects in accordance with FDOT, AASHTO, FBC, and Miami‑Dade County standards.
Develop design calculations, plans, specifications, and technical reports.
Design and evaluate bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, sign structures, buildings, and other transportation‑related structures.
Support structural rehabilitation, repair, and retrofit projects.
Public Agency Project SupportSupport projects for Miami‑Dade County, FDOT (District 6 & statewide), and municipal clients.
Coordinate with roadway, drainage, traffic, and CEI teams.
Respond to agency comments and participate in design reviews and meetings.
Assist with shop drawing review and construction phase services.
Technical Collaboration & QualityWork under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers.
Ensure compliance with quality control and quality assurance procedures.
Contribute to technical innovation, standard detail development, and best practices.
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.5-10 years of structural engineering experience with public infrastructure projects.
Experience working with FDOT and/or Miami‑Dade County standards.
Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain.
Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, CSiBridge, LEAP Bridge, LARSA, STAAD).Strong written, verbal, and coordination skills.
Preferred QualificationsExperience with transportation structures and public works facilities.
Familiarity with FDOT District 6 processes.
Experience supporting construction engineering inspections (CEI).Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
