Job Description
OVERVIEW
Merrick & Company is seeking a motivated and passionate Traffic Engineer in Central Florida. We are looking for an individual to provide top quality transportation planning and traffic engineering studies, and ultimately achieve the designation of a Florida Professional Engineer (PE). The prospective candidate will exercise engineering judgement under the guidance and supervision of a senior Florida PE and take pride in their work products.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Conduct transportation analysis, plans preparation and report writing Participate in meetings, including preparing presentations and public outreach materials Conduct site visits and collect field data Other duties as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Completed bachelor's and/or master's degree in civil engineering Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or the ability to obtain 8 years of experience in conducting traffic operational and safety analyses, plans preparation and report writing Solid understanding of traffic flow theory and transportation systems analysis Experience in one or more of the following topic areas: field work, traffic operations analysis, signal design, transportation planning, travel demand modeling, traffic and safety studies Experience with the following software tools, or similar: HCS, Synchro, Vissim, Corsim, other micro/macro simulation tools, AutoCAD, Microstation, OpenRoads Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
