We are seeking qualified applicants for an ITS Engineer or ITS Engineer Intern to support the continued growth of our Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) practice. This opportunity is available in our Baton Rouge (LA) Office, but Lafayette, Mandeville, and New Orleans will also be considered. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful transportation projects for state and local agency clients while gaining hands‑on experience with emerging ITS technologies. The position also provides a clear pathway for long‑term career development within a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering firm.

Responsibilities:

Support the planning, design, and implementation of ITS and transportation systems projects. Assist with preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports. Support systems engineering documentation, including concepts of operations and requirements. Coordinate with DOT clients, municipalities, vendors, and internal project teams. Assist with traffic operations analysis, system integration, and device selection.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Preferred), Electrical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field. 0 - 2+ years of relevant ITS or transportation engineering experience. EIT certification or PE licensure or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe. Experience with ITS infrastructure such as traffic signal systems, detection, CCTV, DMS, communications, or traffic management systems. Familiarity with DOT standards and transportation agency processes. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with MicroStation, Synchro, VISSIM, or similar tools is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment. Willing to work in office and field conditions.
