Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a motivated Roadway Project Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects throughout Maryland. This role offers the opportunity to work on roadway improvements, intersections, corridors, and multimodal transportation projects that enhance safety, mobility, and community connectivity. Key Responsibilities Design roadway, highway, and intersection improvement projects. Prepare engineering plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates. Coordinate with clients, agencies, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams. Ensure compliance with MDOT SHA, AASHTO, and applicable design standards. Support project scheduling, budgeting, and delivery. Provide engineering support during construction, including responding to RFIs and reviewing design modifications. Mentor junior staff and contribute to technical excellence initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain. 4+ years of roadway design experience. Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, Civil 3D, or similar software. Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills. Experience with
MDOT SHA
