B&N Traffic Engineer, Entry Level Responsibilities:
Perform safety analyses and network screening, including systemic analysis and site-specific studies Apply Safe System Approach (SSA) principles, proven safety countermeasures, and Highway Safety Manual methodologies on assigned projects Collaborate and learn from experienced Professional Engineers, Professional Traffic Operations Engineers and be mentored by industry leaders in transportation Grow and develop skills including traffic engineering tasks, technical skills, project management and business development Support experienced engineers on transportation projects, including traffic modeling and analysis, safety analysis, and traffic forecasting
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program required Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern registration or ability to obtain within 3 months 0-4 years of experience in traffic studies and plan development Excellent communication skills and willingness to collaborate Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MicroStation, GIS, or AutoCAD; experience with Synchro, HCS, HSM, or IHSDM a plus Adaptable and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset as well as a proactive approach to problem solving Strong interest in transportation engineering and motivated to improve the efficiency and safety of transportation systems Strong technical writing and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Experience participating in Road Safety Audits and familiarity with safety countermeasure evaluation and selection a plus To learn more about B&N's Perks and Culture click here . #LI-PC1
