Job Description

We've served clients in all 50 states and several countries. LJB's Transportation Practice is focused on improving infrastructure to enhance communities and quality of life. We partner with DOTs, municipalities, public and private agencies to deliver safe, efficient, and future-ready transportation solutions. From roadway and bridge design to multimodal corridors, our team combines technical expertise with a proactive approach to keep people and projects moving forward. We are currently seeking a passionate and driven Entry Level Traffic Engineer to join our growing team in Dayton or Cleveland Ohio. This is a full-time opportunity designed for a recent graduate or early-career professional who is excited to launch their engineering career in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
Stay up to date on transportation engineering guidelines, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance in project designs.
Ability to work in a team setting collaboratively with group of other traffic and transportation/civil engineers.
Ability to identify project issues and facilitate resolution.
Ability to react quickly and calmly to high-pressure situations.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team settings.
Occasionally visit work sites, monitoring project progress and reporting findings.
Ability to meet all safety requirements if/when visiting a work site.
Occasional travel may be required.

Pay:
$65,000 - $85,000/year based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.Benefit Information:

Technical engineering responsibilities may include: Traffic impact studiesTraffic operations analysesSafety studiesSignal system designSignal timing plansMaintenance of trafficPavement markings and signageHighway lighting designCorridor studies Assist in the preparation of traffic engineering designs and plans for transportation projects.Stay up to date on transportation engineering guidelines, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance in project designs.

Additional Responsibilities and Duties:
Ability to analyze situations and identify ways to improve efficiency.Ability to react quickly and calmly to high-pressure situations.

ENTRY LEVEL TRAFFIC ENGINEER ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS
Education:
Required:
Bachelor's or Masters degree in Civil Engineering.Preferred:
EIT Certification Qualifications:
Required:
1-3 years' experience.Required:
Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, SIDRA, TransModeler, VISSIM, AutoCAD/MicroStation/Geopak/Open Roads Designer and Microsoft Office.Required:
Knowledge of the Highway Capacity Manual and Congestion Management Guidelines.Preferred:
Experience with Travel Demand Modeling Software (TransCAD, CUBE
