Distribution Designer

Position Overview We are seeking a Line Designer to support electric distribution projects for regional EMCs and cooperatives. This is a hybrid role that blends field data collection with in-office design work. The Line Designer supports the full design lifecycle, from field staking and layout through design package development and post-construction inspection. Key Responsibilities Perform field data collection and staking for electric distribution projects Develop electric distribution line designs using AutoCAD and/or GIS software Create and update design packages for construction release Coordinate with internal teams and EMC/co-op partners on design requirements Conduct post-work inspection/verification after designs are issued and built Maintain accurate documentation and design records Work Environment Hybrid schedule with approximately 50% field and 50% office time Office-based work is out of the Villa Rica office Occasional travel may be required; overnight travel is rare Required Qualifications 2-year technical degree in GIS, Geospatial, Engineering Technology, or related field Ability to work in both field and office environments Experience with CAD and/or GIS software (AutoCAD preferred) Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of experience in electric distribution design or related utility work Prior experience with staking/line design responsibilities Experience supporting EMCs/co-ops or utility partners Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Villa Rica, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
