Based in Philadelphia or Pittsburgh , you will play a key role in delivering complex, exciting and engaging large-scale transportation infrastructure projects across the region. As a senior technical leader, you will serve as a design lead and client-facing engineer of record on Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) projects, guiding multidisciplinary teams through planning, design, and construction support for major highway and roadway initiatives. You'll collaborate closely with project managers, discipline leads, and other technical experts to deliver innovative solutions that exceed client expectations. In this role, you'll provide technical direction, quality oversight, and mentorship to junior engineers and designers while maintaining accountability for schedule, scope, and technical excellence. You will also act as a trusted advisor to our clients, strengthening long-term relationships and supporting business development pursuits throughout Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic region. When you join us you'll: Serve as Lead Highway Engineer / Engineer of Record on significant transportation projects from concept through final design and construction support Provide technical leadership for roadway geometry, interchange design, traffic control/staging, drainage, stormwater management, and erosion & sediment control Oversee and review design deliverables to ensure compliance Coordinate alongside project managers on staffing projections, schedules, budgets, and risk management Interface directly with subconsultants, clients, reviewing agencies, and external stakeholders Mentor and guide team of junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical growth and quality-focused delivery Support proposal development, scope development, and technical interviews as a senior contributor to business growth Here's what you'll need Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Professional Engineer (PE) license in Pennsylvania Advanced proficiency with Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD) Substantial progressive experience in transportation engineering with a strong focus on highway/roadway design Demonstrated experience leading complex highway design projects for PennDOT and/or PTC Proven ability to lead technical teams, manage priorities, and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders Local to our Pennsylvania offices:

And certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock. The base salary range for this position is $132,900.00 to $182,700.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
