Opportunity :
Our Parsons San Diego , California office is now hiring for an Associate Traffic Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to support various traffic systems design engineering projects in the State of California . This role can be hybrid remote ( meaning working from home 1-2 days per week), but does require reporting to the local office 3 days per week. This role is open to new or recent graduates from a Degreed Civil Engineering program with a preferred focus in
Traffic or Transportation Engineering What You'll Be Doing:
You will perform a variety of basic engineering support assignments that require a fundamental knowledge of design/drafting standards, practices, and techniques. This role will focus on supporting traffic engineering studies, to include activities such as volume forecasting and capacity analysis, utilizing tools and training gained either in studies or via prior internship training. This role will support clients such as Caltrans in California and primarily other regional city and county clients as well. Will utilize analysis software such as Synchro and Vissim. You will utilize a CAD workstation to prepare engineering drawings consisting of basic arrangements, layouts, as-builts, etc., from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures. Will compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings Assignments are designed to help you develop a practical knowledge of the highway engineering discipline.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
A 4 year Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required. A Master's Degree in Civil Engineering is desirable, but not required. Prior internships in traffic engineering is highly desirable Prior classwork training with traffic engineering focus is highly preferred Literate in PC software, a working knowledge of CAD, and other computer software used to complete design assignments. Any work experience with traffic systems analysis is a plus
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Solid aptitude for learning and applying basic transportation engineering systems design Some experience with Autocad or Microstation or Synchro and Vissim is desirable Good verbal communication skills

Salary Range:
