Job Description

A well-established, nationally recognized engineering firm with over a century of excellence is seeking a Highway Engineering Leader to spearhead growth in the Texas transportation market. Known for delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions and fostering a people-first culture, this firm offers a unique opportunity to lead and shape a dynamic roadway design practice.
Position Overview:
This leadership role involves building and managing a highway design group, mentoring staff, and guiding strategic growth across Texas. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in transportation engineering, a strong understanding of TxDOT processes, and a passion for developing client relationships and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and grow a highway design team within TexasDevelop and execute business strategies and goalsCultivate and maintain client relationships with TxDOT, municipalities, counties, and regional planning organizationsOversee project management including scopes, budgets, schedules, and quality controlMentor staff across experience levels and foster a collaborative team cultureSupport company-wide growth initiatives and cross-office collaborationRepresent the firm in strategic partnerships, proposals, and presentations
Qualifications:
Minimum 15 years of experience in transportation project designBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred)Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in TexasStrong familiarity with TxDOT policies and proceduresProven leadership in growing engineering teams and managing resourcesExcellent communication and business development skillsExperience in full-cycle project managementWillingness to travel for client meetings, site visits, and team coordinationCommitment to innovation, professional growth, and technical excellence
