Job Description

Senior Drainage Engineer | Salt Lake City, UTOne of the more unique engineering teams in Utah is adding a Senior Drainage Engineer to their Salt Lake City office. This is not a revolving door, they have built a tight group and they are careful about who comes in. Culture fit is taken as seriously as technical ability here. The RoleYou will be the technical anchor for drainage on transportation projects, the person the team and the client rely on to get it right. That means running H&H analysis, making design decisions on stormwater conveyance systems, and seeing projects through from concept to construction. You will also be developing the engineers around you.

The Work
  • Transportation drainage across a range of project scales and complexity
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis tied to real infrastructure decisions
  • Stormwater systems, culverts, bridge hydraulics, detention facilities, and channel work
  • Plans, specs, and quantities, owning the drainage package
  • Client-facing technical lead responsibilities
  • Mentoring and growing junior staffWhat Gets You in the Room
  • Utah PE license
  • Recent experience on state DOT projects in Utah, this is the one non‑negotiable
  • Local market knowledge, county and municipal project familiarity

  • $115,000 to $180,000 base depending on experience
