Position Summary This position supervises professional and technical positions of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's (WisDOT's) Railroads and Harbors Program Management Unit in the areas of passenger rail, freight rail, and port/harbor program management and project engineering. This position is responsible for policy development and passenger rail operations and management. This position is also responsible for overseeing a full scope of technical railroad engineering services, including but not limited to interpreting and applying policy within programmatic areas. This position also oversees project management of grant projects, construction estimates, engineering services, preparation of technical exhibits to regulatory agencies, port facility inspections, and track and structure inspections. This position is responsible for performing professional engineering work as well as overseeing work performed by engineers. Salary Information This position is in schedule-range (81-30) with an annual salary of $112,320 - $122,034, plus excellent benefits. A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan. Job Details This state agency does not sponsor work visas. Qualifications Minimum requirement - A valid Professional Engineering registration and be able to obtain a Wisconsin PE registration within 3 months if the PE registration is from another state.
