Quality Engineer Glendale, AZ Qualifications:
BS in Engineering 2+ years of Quality experience in aerospace/automotive ASQ certification (preferred) Knowledge of quality inspection and quality assurance techniques, procedures, instruments, equipment, theories, principles and concepts Ability to use standard business applications software and/or specialized data analysis tools Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus Knowledge of maintaining and improving QS9000 & TS16949
systems Effective communication and presentation skills Responsibilities:
Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality standards for products and processes. Devise and implement various methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision, reliability and accuracy of products, processes and production equipment. Develop and establish quality systems and procedures, inspection plans, quality performance trends, statistical plans, cost estimates and technical quality plans for proposals. Ensure that project and/or process control documentation is compliant with requirements and/or contract. Assess the cost of products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications by performing statistical analyses. Identify quality performance, trends and corrective action by coordinating with customers and suppliers. Ensure compliance with specified quality requirements by performing in-house and supplier audits and surveys. Develop and initiate programs to improve supplier performance. Prepare reports by collecting, interpreting, analyzing and summarizing data and making recommendations. Analyze proposed changes in methods and materials. Participate in failure analysis and corrective action investigations. Refine and enhance products and processes by applying continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques to critical areas of production. Represent company by interfacing with customers, assisting with internal and external audits. May act as main contact in audit. Develop and coordinate corrective action procedures and plans. Educate team on matters requiring specialized knowledge of quality functions - such as Production Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Product Quality Process (APQP).
