Engineer for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Fremont, CA. This onsite role is ideal for a Quality Engineering or Process Engineering professional with hands-on PCBA manufacturing experience and strong knowledge of conformal coating, polymeric applications, and New Product Introduction processes. DFC / NPI
Engineer will play a key role in Design for Conformal Coating reviews, manufacturability assessments, technical risk analysis, and first article readiness for PCB assemblies. This position supports customer technical engagement, quoting, onboarding, and multi-site process standardization, making it a strong opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of quality, manufacturing, customer requirements, and process improvement. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with quality leadership, engineering teams, production teams, and customers in a technical manufacturing environment. Candidates who value collaboration, process discipline, continuous improvement, and the chance to influence product quality before production release will find this position especially rewarding. Key Responsibilities Perform Design for Conformal Coating reviews for new and existing PCB assemblies, including evaluation of drawings, specifications, TDPs, and workmanship requirements. Support NPI builds, first article manufacturing readiness, masking methods, coating strategies, and technical risk mitigation activities. Evaluate customer design requirements against IPC, MIL, NASA, and other applicable industry standards to ensure manufacturability and compliance. Partner with sales, quality, engineering, production, and customers during quoting, onboarding, technical review meetings, and quality discussions. Support RCCA investigations related to PCB design, conformal coating, staking, potting, encapsulation, bonding, masking, stripping, and other polymeric application issues. Document DFC review findings, risk assessments, and recommendations in JIRA while helping translate customer requirements into manufacturing and inspection criteria.
Compensation and Benefits Pay range:
$45 to $60 per hour.
