  • Full-time What to Expect Tesla is looking for a highly motivated Quality Engineer focusing on launch phase of Optimus humanoid robot production.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in quality engineering principles, a hands-on approach to problem solving, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to ensure operational efficiency and all assemblies meet design specifications. The primary objective of this role is to drive continual improvement of the systems that control product quality. They will be expected to work closely with SIE and Design teams on supplier readiness. Your role in this demanding and fast-paced environment will contribute to the development of a groundbreaking product, aligning with our mission of achieving amazing abundance through innovative manufacturing practices. What You'll Do Collaborate with
Suppliers and Supplier Quality Teams:
Partner with internal and external suppliers to validate supplier part readiness, define contributions of supplied part quality to downstream issues, and drive continuous improvement Establish criteria for Part Inspection Standards based on product specification and process critical requirements to determine component and assembly level readiness Lead efforts with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production teams to ensure design drawings, manufacturing instructions, inspection instructions, and tooling are consistent and complete Establish and Maintain Control Plans to assure critical features are controlled through assembly/production processes. Conduct capability studies and implement SPC controls Leads problem solving of unusual and technically ambiguous issues using first principles. Use QA methodologies to manage and facilitate issue resolution including root cause investigations and the development, implementation, and monitoring of effective corrective and preventive actions Lead/facilitate review and disposition of discrepant materials identified for control of nonconforming product
Operational Support:
Provide technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues in real-time, minimizing production downtime and enhancing operational reliability What You'll Bring Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, etc.) or other technical discipline, or equivalent experience Experienced in
QS-9000, ISO/TS 16949, APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA
required Demonstrated success in applying quality problem solving methods such as fishbone diagrams, FMEA, process capability analysis, hypothesis testing, DoE, SPC, etc.
GD&T & Measurement:
Experience in GD&T and quality systems in a manufacturing environment. Experience with a broad variety of measurement and inspection techniques Experience with broad variety of measurement and inspection technique
Industry Knowledge:
