Quality Engineer Job Description The Customer Quality Engineer serves as the primary liaison between the company and its customers regarding quality-related matters. This role is responsible for managing customer quality issues, leading root cause investigations, coordinating corrective actions, and ensuring timely and effective communication with customers. The Customer Quality Engineer works closely with internal teams including manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and program management to ensure customer requirements are met and quality performance is continuously improved. This position plays a key role in protecting customer relationships while driving corrective and preventive actions across the organization. Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for customers on quality-related matters. Manage and resolve customer quality issues and complaints. Lead root cause investigations and coordinate corrective actions. Ensure timely and effective communication with customers. Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and program management teams to meet customer requirements. Drive corrective and preventive actions across the organization. Essential Skills Proficiency in quality engineering and management. Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action plans. Ability to handle customer complaints and quality issue resolution. Experience with quality assurance, control, and management systems. Familiarity with AS9100, inspection, and quality management systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Engineering degree preferred (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field). Minimum 8 years of experience managing customer relationships or quality in a manufacturing environment. Certification in quality systems (CQE, CQA, ASQ, or equivalent) preferred. Experience with ITAR, NADCAP, and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS) is a plus. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred. Experience in CM/EMS environments for aerospace/defense customers. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Ana, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
