Bench Lab Support Tech Engineering Santa Clara, CA - On-Site Daily Contract Role (12 months) About Our Client A global leader in advanced technology solutions and system integration, this organization partners with the world''s leading technology manufacturers and maintains the highest levels of technical certification. Customers and partners work on-site and virtually with access to demos, workshops, proofs of concept, and advisory services. Job Description You''ll be part of a world-class advanced technology lab environment where hardware innovation happens daily. This role supports the full lifecycle of system validation—from board assembly through silicon bring-up, testing, and debug. You''ll work with the latest development platforms and server systems, ensuring every component meets rigorous validation standards. Your hands-on contributions directly impact how cutting-edge computing architectures are brought to market. You''ll collaborate with design engineers and lab teams while maintaining a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency. Duties and Responsibilities Assemble, build, and install bench-top development platforms and large server systems. Prepare boards for detailed solder rework and validation testing. Connect oscilloscope probes to boards and collect signal waveform data. Perform mechanical reworks using power tools such as Dremel equipment. Run system tests, collect results, and screen modules and boards for validation and debugging. Support lab shipping, receiving, and inventory management of equipment and materials. Troubleshoot hardware/software interfaces and debug system-level issues at the board and platform level. Maintain and organize lab equipment while identifying and implementing process improvements. Required Experience/Skills Diploma, Associate''s, or Bachelor''s degree in a related field (or equivalent hands-on lab experience). Minimum 2+ years of hands-on lab testing and validation experience (silicon bring-up, board-level design/validation, or system design/validation). Hands-on debugging experience at the hardware/software interface with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot system-level issues. Proficiency with Linux command-line operation - required for system administration, log analysis, and lab automation. Fundamental knowledge of computing architectures (x86/ARM). Excellent attention to detail and clear written/verbal communication skills. Nice-to-Haves Experience with BMC (Baseboard Management Controllers) and server management processors. Basic networking knowledge and server maintenance experience. Competence in performing simple solder rework. Lab test equipment setup experience (oscilloscopes, signal measurement, schematic interpretation). Experience with accelerated GPU computing environments.
