Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer applies technical and problem-solving skills to ensure products and processes meet quality requirements. This role supports corrective actions, risk management, and continuous improvement across the organization and supply chain.Essential Functions:
Process and Product Quality Support:
Apply quality engineering principles to ensure product and process compliance with quality standards.Internal Audit Program:
Plan and conduct internal audits to the ISO9001 Quality Management Standard and Wasco's documented procedures.Root Cause and Corrective Actions:
Lead investigations into quality issues and develop corrective action plans.Data Analysis and Risk Management:
Analyze data, conduct risk assessments, and support FMEA and other preventive quality tools.Supplier and Customer Support:
Work with suppliers and customers to address quality requirements and resolve issues.Continuous Improvement:
Support initiatives that improve process capability, reduce defects, and enhance efficiency.Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.Experience:
4 years in a full-time engineering or quality-related role required. (Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred).Skills and Abilities Summary:
Technical Problem-Solving:
Understands the necessary elements of an operator controllable process. Apply quality engineering methods and structured problem-solving to resolve complex quality issues.Internal Auditing Expertise:
Understanding ofISO9001 QMS
Requirements and experience conducting process audits in a manufacturing environment, including Audit reporting and Corrective Action initiation.Root Cause Analysis Expertise:
Use tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, and FMEA to identify and prevent failures.Data-Driven Approach:
Collect, analyze, and interpret quality data to support decisions. Firm command of descriptive statistics, intermediate or above excel skills. Effectively applies SPC and MSA in a factory setting.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure quality integration.Standards Knowledge:
Understand ISO 9001 and industry-specific standards to ensure compliance.Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
This position may require the ability to lift 50 lbs. at chest level several times a day, good hand and eye coordination with demonstrated manual dexterity and fine motor skills for precision calibration and assembly of small parts, 20/20 or better corrected vision, and the ability to see the full spectrum of colors and track fine details visually to discover defects in parts or processes.
