Job Description:
The Quality Engineer - Internal Quality Focus is responsible for ensuring that Pivotal Systems' internal processes, products, and materials meet established quality standards. This role plays a critical part in driving continuous improvement through internal reliability testing, supplier inspection, change control participation, and GAP analysis. This role will work closely with internal teams to drive continuous improvement, reliability and support quality initiatives and maintain compliance with company and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct reliability testing on products and components to assess long-term performance and durability. Support and participate in incoming supplier inspections to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards. Actively participate in Change Control Board (CCB) reviews to ensure product process, risk assessment and impact evaluation on quality systems. Perform internal GAP process analyses to identify inefficiencies, non-conformities, and areas for improvement. Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate documentation of test results, inspection data, and quality reports. Support internal audits (ISO 9001:2015) and follow-up on audit findings to ensure timely resolution. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aligned with company objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field. (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial etc.) 2+ years of experience in a quality engineering role, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments. Working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., 8D, FMEA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis- 5 Whys, fishbone diagram). Experience with reliability testing and supplier quality assurance is preferred. Experience with quality internal audits Hands-on experience with statistical analysis tools (Minitab, JMP or similar) Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Familiarity with change control and document management systems. Familiarity with measurement tools and gauges (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
Preferred Skills:
ISO 9001 or other quality system knowledge. Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) Familiarity with highly regulated industries (Semiconductor, aerospace or similar) Proven ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives across teams Experience with statistical analysis and data-driven decision making.
