Position Summary:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the products meet the required quality standards through the application of engineering principles and quality assurance processes. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems, performing audits, identifying areas for improvement, and driving initiatives to ensure consistent product quality. The Quality Engineer works closely with production teams to monitor processes and resolve quality-related issues.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement quality control processes and standards to ensure compliance with industry regulations and customer specifications. Perform inspections, tests, and audits of products at various stages of production to ensure quality standards are met. Analyze data from quality tests and inspections to identify trends, root causes, and areas for process improvement. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing and engineering, to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions. Review and approve product specifications, process documentation, and engineering changes to ensure compliance with quality standards. Assist in the development of training programs for team members on quality-related topics. Participate in continuous improvement efforts, including Lean and Six Sigma projects, to improve product quality and manufacturing processes. Review customer feedback and warranty claims, working with relevant departments to address quality concerns. Prepare and maintain quality documentation and reports, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date. Support the development of new products by providing quality requirements and guidelines during the design phase. Ensure the quality system complies with ISO, ASTM, or other relevant standards as applicable.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in quality engineering or quality assurance in a manufacturing environment. In-depth knowledge of quality control principles, methods, and tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC, CAPA, root cause analysis). Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex quality issues. Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or
IATF 16949.
Experience with statistical analysis software and quality management systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Detail-oriented with a commitment to continuous improvement and achieving high-quality standards. Ability to work independently and in a team environment to meet objectives. Certification in quality engineering (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma Green Belt) is preferred.
Other Details:
Work Environment:
Manufacturing floor with exposure to industrial equipment, noise, and varying temperatures.
Physical Demands:
Active role requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting of materials or equipment (up to 50 pounds).
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for extended hours or weekends as needed to support production demands.
Travel:
Minimal travel may be required, primarily for training or inter-facility coordination.
