Full Job Description SUMMARY:
The Quality Engineer oversees Quality Assurance / Quality Control, including internal auditing, quality improvement activities, as well as interaction with suppliers. The QE works within the quality system to ensure the overall quality of all manufactured products and is tasked with creating documentation, devising quality checks, and defining the criteria that the manufactured parts should meet. They play a key role in fixing issues when they arise and must be able to comfortably interface with suppliers during the problem-solving stages.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Promotes quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization. Develops, implements, and maintains a quality plan to maintain compliance with ISO quality system requirements. Sets up and maintains control and documentation procedures. Manages and maintains the company's quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes, and finished goods. Assesses the product specifications of the company and its suppliers. Liaises with ISO auditors, customer auditors and ensures the execution of corrective action and compliance with customer specifications. Perform PPAP's per customer requirements. Identifies relevant quality-related training needs. Analyzes performance data and charts against company and customer requirements. Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Good understanding of quality systems including ISO program management. Good verbal and written communication skills as well as detail oriented. Ability to define root causes including the use of statistical analysis techniques. Has a sense of urgency as QA is often the final stop for expedited parts. Ability to coach and mentor others in QA principles. Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment. Minimum of five (5) years managing a certified Quality Management System. Experience in performing PPAP's. Experience in different calibration systems. Experience conducting/finalizing RCCA activities. Desired Prior inspection experience in manufacturing, preferably wire or metals Manufacturing/Engineering degree, ASQ certification Experience in 8D corrective action, 5 why and fishbone problem solving methods. Industry related experience FAIR experience desired but not required. ISO standard experience desired but not required.
