POSITION DESCRIPTION
: The quality engineer position works directly with manufacturing leadership, analyzing manufacturing processes for improvement using various methods of testing and inspection.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following.
Other duties may be assigned:
Serve as the primary quality assurance resource to manufacturing supervisor(s) for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement. Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection. Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports for the manufacturing areas. Assist in process certification Develop, execute and analyze quality-reporting measures for manufacturing. Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses in the manufacturing area. Serve as a quality assurance representative to the Materials Review Board (MRB). May compile, write and deliver training material on quality standards and activities for the manufacturing areas. Involved in process plans, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, supplier quality, test equipment, support in development and maintenance of
ISO/IATF
systems, internal auditing, and continuous improvement in the manufacturing areas. Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation for manufacturing Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data. Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities. Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process change. Documents data obtained during all quality activities consistent with company policies and procedures. Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities. Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provides recommended process improvements to management. Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality activities. Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management. Develops and maintains CMM and MicroVu programs. Preventative Maintenance and trouble shooting of lab equipment, as needed.

EXPERIENCE
Preferred Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years' experience, or a combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, vendors, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to understand and apply basic geometric dimensioning and tolerance. Ability to apply advanced statistical techniques such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions (e.g., working around moving machines in production facilities) and protective clothing or gear such as safety glasses, gloves and safety shoes is required.
