Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Quality Systems & Compliance Develop, implement, and maintain a plant-wide quality system that meets customer, corporate, and regulatory requirements. Support and maintain compliance with ISO and customer‑specific quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IATF, AS9100 as applicable). Maintain control of quality documentation, inspection standards, and work instructions. Lead and support internal and external quality audits, including customer audits. Injection Molding Quality Engineering Partner with Process Engineering and Production to ensure robust, capable plastic injection molding processes. Review and approve control plans, PFMEAs, process flow diagrams, setup sheets, and first article inspections. Support mold trials, process qualifications, and validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ as applicable). Monitor statistical process control (SPC) data and process capability (Cp/Cpk) to drive continuous improvement. Problem Solving & Corrective Action Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for internal and customer quality issues. Analyze scrap, rework, customer complaints, and nonconforming material trends. Prepare and respond to customer corrective actions (8D, 5‑Why, Fishbone, etc.). Drive sustainable corrective actions and verify effectiveness. Customer & Supplier Quality Serve as the quality point of contact for customer quality concerns and new product launches. Support customer
PPAP/FAI
submissions and ongoing quality requirements. Collaborate with suppliers on quality issues related to raw materials, components, or outsourced processes. Continuous Improvement & Collaboration Champion continuous improvement methodologies across the manufacturing operation. Analyze quality performance metrics and support plant quality goals. Coach and support production, quality technicians, and inspectors in quality best practices. Promote a culture of customer focus and accountability throughout the organization. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Plastic Injection Molding experience strongly preferred. Technical Skills Strong knowledge of injection molding processes and defect analysis. Experience with SPC, Cp/Cpk, control charts, and measurement systems analysis (MSA). Proficiency in root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies. Working knowledge of quality standards and audit processes. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T. Soft Skills Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement mindset. Physical & Work Environment Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and molded plastic materials. Ability to work on the production floor and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. PPE required when in production areas.

Salary Range:
66K to $97.7K•Depends on Experience
