Chicago, Illinois What you will be doing: Build and maintain internal systems that replace external SaaS dependencies, ensuring Marine Layer owns its core infrastructure Automate manual processes across sales operations, reporting, and client delivery Leverage AI-assisted development (Claude Code) as your daily workflow accelerant Manage and improve our central database and the integrations that connect it to every tool we use Translate business requirements from the sales and operations teams into technical specifications and shipped code Maintain engineering discipline: version control, testing, documentation, and clean deployments What you must have: Have a degree in Financial Engineering, Operations Engineering, Computer Science (with finance interest), or a related quantitative field Have strong software fundamentals, are fluent in SQL, and understand API integrations Have foundational knowledge of financial products (structured notes, derivatives, fixed income) Have strong habits around code quality Are excited about AI-assisted development and have used Claude, Copilot, or similar tools Thrive in small, fast-moving teams where you own your outcomes Can communicate with non-technical people about technical tradeoffs Are innovative and enjoy collaborating with colleagues to create solution Thank you for your interest in this opportunity.
