Job Title:
Quality/Test Engineer 2
Location:
Onsite - Chillicothe, IL Contract duration: 12 month contract with potential to extend or convert
Job Summary:
We are seeking a technically skilled engineer or technician to support product quality, troubleshooting, and customer issue resolution for complex equipment systems. This role serves as a key liaison between customers, dealers, and engineering teams, helping diagnose electrical, software, and system-related issues while driving product quality improvements. The position combines technical troubleshooting, quality analysis, and customer support in a collaborative engineering environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues reported through customer and dealer support channels.
  • Analyze diagnostic codes, machine data, and system information to identify root causes of equipment problems.
  • Provide technical support related to electrical, electronic, software, and communication systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop corrective actions and long-term solutions.
  • Monitor product quality trends and recommend improvements based on field feedback and data analysis.
  • Develop and maintain quality control procedures, documentation, and reporting tools.
  • Collect, evaluate, and report quality and reliability data.
  • Support testing, validation, and evaluation of products, equipment, and systems.
  • Assist with training activities related to quality processes and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Participate in product investigations and occasionally support activities in manufacturing or testing environments.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, dealers, and customers to ensure timely issue resolution.
Requirements:
  • 2-4 years of experience in engineering, technical support, product support, testing, quality engineering, field service, or a related technical discipline.
  • Engineering degree preferred; strong technical or engineering technician backgrounds will also be considered.
  • Internship experience may be counted toward overall experience requirements.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and engineering documentation.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and test equipment such as multimeters.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Oscilloscopes
  • CAN Bus / J1939 communications
  • Ethernet communications
  • Software troubleshooting
  • Hydraulic systems
  • Electronic sensors, including Hall Effect sensors, pressure transducers, and angle sensors
  • Knowledge of data analysis techniques and quality improvement methodologies.
  • Technical writing experience.
  • Experience with scripting, automation, or macros.
