Job Description

Job Title:
Quality Engineer Job Description This role will develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance plans, analyze data to drive continuous improvement, and provide technical mentorship to the Quality Assurance team. Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and improve quality management system procedures to support governing standards. Lead root cause analysis sessions with cross-functional working groups and assist with implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for non-conformances. Analyze production and development data to identify trends, defects, and opportunities for improvement. Support and review the execution of process validation protocols and test method validation, including the development of measurement methods or functional test methods. Interact with customers regarding reported non-conformances, oversee internal investigations, and control messaging to ensure timely quality-related responses. Trend supplier performance issues and manage immediate resolutions with the supply chain. Train and mentor junior and mid-level quality engineers. Support the Quality Manager with both regulatory and customer audits. Monitor and drive the reduction of non-conformances, improve process capability, ensure successful audit results, and timely completion of CAPA actions. Essential Skills Proficiency in statistical analysis and statistical process control (SPC). Experience with root cause analysis tools such as fishbone diagrams and 5 Whys. Familiarity with risk management practices, particularly PFMEA. Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality, or a related technical field. 5+ years of experience in a quality engineering role, preferably in medical device manufacturing. Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications ASQ Certification (CQE, CQA) preferred. Experience with medical device manufacturing standards. Proficiency with Minitab. Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, IQMS. Work Environment The position is based in a large manufacturing environment where adherence to quality and safety standards is paramount. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Grayslake, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
