Job Description:
Quality Engineer As a Quality Engineer, you will implement and manage process and product controls to ensure first-time product quality. You will resolve daily in-process quality issues and evaluate materials and components against customer and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Resolve daily in-process quality issues for assigned value streams. Lead investigation and resolution for internal nonconformances, customer product quality complaints, and supplier quality concerns using disciplined problem-solving techniques such as 8D and DMAIC. Facilitate and manage continuous improvement teams to enhance safety and reduce the cost of quality metrics. Capture and maintain Quality scorecard metrics and recommend improvements to transition the organization from a reactive to a proactive culture. Develop and lead internal product/process quality audit systems, closing out audit findings and reporting results to upper management. Design systems for recording and analyzing product quality levels and interpret and report trends and improvement plans as part of the Quality Operating System. Utilize statistical data to identify and resolve safety and quality problems, leading initiatives focused on problem prevention and variance reduction. Create, modify, and implement sampling plans, quality standards, and process control instructions. Review and establish PPAP requirements for product/process changes and new product development. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality, or related field. 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience. Lean manufacturing experience. Proven success in utilizing formal problem resolution tools such as 8D and DMAIC. Experience using Excel and Minitab (or equivalent) for data manipulation and analysis. Experience in ISO9001, with auditor experience. Experience with AIAG core requirements such as PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC. Self-directed with outstanding troubleshooting and problem resolution skills. ASQ certification. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment is preferred. 7+ years of experience is highly desirable. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Hanover Park, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $57.69/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
