Job Title:
Quality Engineer Job Description The Quality Engineer investigates and analyzes quality issues, recommends effective solutions, and implements corrective actions across multiple levels of the organization. This role ensures that robust quality systems, validations, and controls are established and maintained to support the smooth transition of new products and technologies from development into full-scale production. The Quality Engineer develops, applies, and maintains quality standards and protocols in alignment with
ISO 9001
requirements while driving continuous improvement in a production environment. Responsibilities Investigate and analyze quality problems across various levels of the organization, identify root causes, and recommend and implement effective corrective actions. Assure that quality systems, validations, and controls are established, maintained, and continuously improved to support the transition of new products and technologies from development to operational production. Establish robust and sustainable systems to ensure corrective and preventive actions are systematically implemented, monitored, and controlled in accordance with
ISO 9001
requirements. Create, evaluate, communicate, and process Engineering Change Notices to reflect quality-related changes in the production process. Develop and maintain clear, accurate work instructions for assigned areas to support consistent and compliant production processes. Perform in-station assembly audits by comparing work instructions to the actual assembly process to verify that appropriate equipment, tooling, and parts are used correctly. Investigate and make recommendations on the procurement of equipment that will improve the manufacture and quality of products. Lead process improvement projects utilizing lean principles, acting as a leader, participant, and initiator to implement positive change. Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality standards, procedures, and protocols to ensure product and process reliability. Create and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Design and/or specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment to support effective quality assurance activities. Conduct quality assurance tests to verify that products and processes meet established standards and customer expectations. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide constructive feedback and corrections to support continuous improvement. Perform other duties and assignments as needed to support overall quality and operational objectives. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering. At least 2 years of quality engineering experience. Experience working in a production environment. Knowledge of basic engineering principles, theories, and concepts. Hands-on experience with quality engineering practices, including root cause analysis. Familiarity with
ISO 9001
quality management system requirements. Strong verbal communication skills for effectively conveying quality issues, solutions, and recommendations. Strong written communication skills for preparing clear work instructions, reports, and documentation. Ability to build and maintain productive relationships to deliver constructive feedback and corrections. Ability to lead and participate in process improvement initiatives using lean principles. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience developing and maintaining work instructions in a manufacturing or production setting. Experience conducting in-station assembly audits to verify process adherence and proper use of equipment and tooling. Experience creating and processing Engineering Change Notices related to quality improvements. Background in developing and implementing methods and procedures for inspection and testing of products and equipment. Experience designing or specifying inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment. Demonstrated ability to support the procurement of equipment to improve manufacturing quality and efficiency. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to quality issues and process improvements. Comfort working across multiple organizational levels and functions to drive quality initiatives. The Quality Engineer collaborates closely with production, engineering, and other cross-functional teams, spends time on the production floor conducting audits and inspections, and works with various manufacturing equipment, tooling, and testing mechanisms to support quality assurance activities. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Streamwood, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $72000.00 - $90000.00/yr. will be available upon offer Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Streamwood,IL.
