Overview:
Join our dynamic team at Sterling Industries, a leading company in the manufacturing industry specializing in small to large part production. We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer who is passionate about maintaining high standards of quality and ensuring customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:
First Article Inspection:
Conduct thorough first article inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
GD&T Expertise:
Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles in design and inspection processes to guarantee precision and accuracy.
PPAP Creation and management:
Lead the preparation and submission of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation including: FAI, Control Plan, PFMEA, Process Flow, Capability Study, and Measurement System Analysis.
Customer Interaction:
Serve as a primary point of contact for customers regarding quality issues, providing clear communication and effective resolution.
Measuring Equipment Proficiency:
Utilize a variety of measuring tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, CMMs, and other advanced measurement technologies, to assess product quality.
Continuous Improvement:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for quality improvement and implement effective solutions.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and audits, and generate comprehensive quality reports for management review.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment focused on small to large part production.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of
GD&T, PPAP
requirements, computer, and quality inspection methodologies.
Measuring Equipment:
Hands-on experience with various measuring equipment and tools for precise quality assessment including CMM.
Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent customer-facing skills with the ability to communicate complex quality concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Problem-Solving:
