Our Halstead, KS location is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team. Are you ready to shape the future with us?
THE POSITION
Quality Engineer, ContiTech USA, LLC, Halstead, KS:
Responsible for the evaluation of manufactured products according to specifications and quality standards. Troubleshoot new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes. Determine root causes of failures or recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods, using statistical procedures. Identify opportunities or implementation of changes to improve manufacturing processes or products or to reduce costs, utilizing knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts. Training of production personnel in new or existing methods is required. Apply continuous improvement methods, such as lean manufacturing, to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness. Communication of manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes. Responsible for quality specifications and work instructions. Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field and two (2) years of work experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a related role. Employer will accept a 3 or 4-year bachelor's degree. Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in each of the following: Manufacturing, process improvement, and product testing;
Core Tools:
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Pre Production Approval Process (PPAP), Structured Problem Solving (SPC), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Control Plans (CP), or 8D/A3; and Internal auditor experience with
ISO 9001.
