Maintains and upholds the Company Quality Standards and Policies; Communicates and interfaces frequently with customers and occasionally with suppliers relating to quality matters; Leads internal scrap reduction activities; Implements, maintains, and documents the Gauge Control System; Provides quality-related training, support, and guidance to other departments as necessary; and Promotes a positive attitude toward teamwork, safety, and quality service.Requirements:
Supports the development and maintenance of the Quality System. Primary customer contact for quality related issues, including customer claims. Conducts analysis of reject product from customer (Warranty / Field or Customer plant level rejects). Creates detailed analysis report and present information internally and to customer when necessary. Analyzes quality defects (including MRB) in the manufacturing process and leads efforts to take corrective action to prevent recurrence. Leads countermeasure meetings and supports the implementation of corrective actions, preventive actions, and continual improvement with technical knowledge. Controls and maintains a gauge calibration and recall system in accordance to AIAG, Measurement System Analysis (MSA).Including:
Repairs and/or rework precision gauges to factory specifications. Determines the best gauge for measuring applications. Coordinates with external vendors for quotes of gauges/fixtures. Able to work with supporting departments, including Japan, for gage design. Conducts internal process audits to reduces risks of quality-related problems. Prepares and maintains the systems used to report internal and external quality status and process performance. Follows the guidelines and standards perPPAP, MSA, APQP
(if needed), and other applicable customer or ASQ quality standards. May travel to customer facility and conduct analysis of reject product on site. Provides training to quality technicians and inspectors as requested. Creates inspection standards for inspectors (receiving, in process, shipping, and layout).Education:
A Four-year Accredited College Degree in Quality Engineering and three (3) years of experience in the Quality field, OR A Masters or Graduate-level Degree from an Accredited College in Quality Engineering and two (2) years of experience in the Quality field, OR Eight (8) years of exempt-level experience in the Quality field. Qualifications General knowledge of machining, heat treatment, metallurgical, gauge development and control. Fully understand non-destructive testing in relation to raw material, heat treatment and welding. ASQ Certified Quality Technician status preferred. Ability to read blueprints. Proficient in the use of SPC data and collection. Experience with CMM. Knowledge of gage calibration and tracking systems. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Computer literate in MS Office software (Word, Excel, and Access).
