Quality Engineer III Springfield, MA Full-Time | OnsiteOverview A manufacturing organization is seeking a Quality Engineer III to lead quality engineering activities, support process improvement, and ensure compliance with established quality systems. This role ensures product quality from incoming materials through final inspection while driving continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, and performance. The position partners closely with engineering and operations to strengthen processes and improve overall product quality.
Key Responsibilities Develop, document, and implement process control systems including SPC, inspection methods, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives. Lead root cause analysis using structured problem-solving tools to implement effective corrective and preventive actions. Manage cross-functional projects to ensure timelines, resources, and communication are aligned. Conduct internal quality system audits to ensure compliance with applicable standards and requirements. Lead CAPA activities, including tracking actions and ensuring timely closure. Support APQP activities for product and process validation and verification. Develop and maintain quality metrics, reporting tools, and dashboards. Partner with engineering to apply DOE, DFM, FMEA, GD&T, process capability analysis, and Six Sigma tools to prevent recurrence of issues. Support nonconformance and material review activities, including failure analysis and corrective actions. Lead training initiatives such as blueprint reading and quality onboarding in coordination with HR. Qualifications 5-7 years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing preferred. knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality systems.
