Job Description:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for testing, evaluating, and verifying the quality and performance of heating elements to ensure conformance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. This role supports product development and continuous improvement initiatives through testing, analysis, and collaboration with internal teams and customers. The position also leads the company's Health and Safety Team and supports compliance with workplace safety policies, procedures, and initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct testing and evaluation of manufactured parts to verify quality, functionality, reliability, and conformance to engineering specifications and established standards. Inspect components and finished products to identify defects, inconsistencies, and opportunities for quality improvement. Document test methods, results, findings, and recommended corrective actions in a clear and accurate manner. Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and customer stakeholders to refine applications, troubleshoot issues, and support product improvement. Support research and development activities through product testing, validation, and continuous improvement efforts. Manages incoming supplier quality by testing and approving new materials used to manufacture heating elements. Establish, maintain, and improve quality standards, inspection criteria, and testing procedures for manufactured parts and processes. Analyze quality data, trends, and recurring issues to identify root causes and recommend process or product improvements. Partner with production and engineering teams to support corrective and preventive actions related to product or process nonconformances. Knowledge of quality assurance principles, testing methods, inspection processes, and continuous improvement practices. Deep understanding of quality assurance methodologies, statistical process control (SPC), and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA). Strong skills in data interpretation to identify trends and process variations. Ability to convey complex technical concepts to cross-functional teams and advocate for the customer. Proficient in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, product specifications, technical requirements, and test data accurately. Skill in identifying defects, analyzing trends, determining root causes, and recommending corrective or preventive actions. Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and documentation skills with attention to detail. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and customer stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently while supporting team objectives. Knowledge of workplace safety practices, hazard awareness, and regulatory compliance expectations. Proficiency with standard computer applications and the ability to prepare clear reports, records, and testing documentation.
