What would I be doing? The Reliability Engineer will lead a growing team of industrial maintenance staff to optimize production equipment and utilities availability at the Grand Haven Site. They will also work closely with site management to implement long-term reliability improvements. Essential Attributes

  • Solid Baseline of Current and Legacy Technologies (Pumps, Motors, Drives, Electrical, Utilities and HVAC)
  • Maintenance Systems Experience

  • Ensure safety compliance within the Facilities Maintenance Team.
  • Proactively implement safety improvements within the facility.
  • Prepare Capital Expenditure Requests for essential replacement projects.
  • Provide written updates distributed to Production and Engineering staff facilitate multi-shift communication
  • Collaborate with Engineering & Maintenance Manager to prioritize replacement for key pieces of equipment near end of useful.
  • Audit current maintenance practices implement improvements including condition-based monitoring and predictive maintenance.
  • Organize and prioritize work orders for Mechanics and Technician on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Attend daily Production Meeting and give an update on the state of maintenance within facility and status of important work orders.
  • Prepare Major Breakdown Reports (MBRs) after downtime events.
  • Prepare Corrective Action/Prevent Action to prevent repeat downtime events.
  • Manage spart parts inventory to reduce unplanned downtime within budgetary and space constraints.
  • Schedule mechanics and technicians to support production and facility's needs.
  • Prepare a monthly Maintenance Scorecard to report Sitewide
  • Arrange contractors to fill skills gaps on a repair or project
  • Arrange training as needed to fill long-term skills gaps within the team
  • Prepare purchase orders for supplies and contractors when needed.
  • Approve time and attendance for Maintenance Staff.
  • Other duties as assigned. What are the qualifications?
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
  • Three to ten years of industrial maintenance and/or engineering experience
  • Previous experience leading a team is a plus
  • Structured problem-solving methods (Kepner-Tregoe, Lean, Six-Sigma, etc.) are a plus
  • Experience within the food or pharmaceutical industry a plus
  • Experience managing contractors is a plus
  • Industry Certifications including those from American Society for Quality (ASQ) and Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) are a plus. Career Path and On-Boarding
  • Suitable candidate will train closely under the Engineering and Maintenance Manager for two to four months learning technical and management requirements of the role.
Engineering and Maintenance Manager and Reliability Engineer will jointly perform initial performance management responsibilities for technicians and mechanics. After joint review process, Reliability Engineer will transition to full responsibility for the team of technicians and mechanics. What do you offer? Site bonus plan eligibility.
