Job Description

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree, technical field preferred (Engineering, Math or Sciences) or equivalent experience four (4) years of quality assurance or process engineering experience. A Quality ASQ certification is desirable but not required. Understanding of
IATF 16949, ISO
9000, and other Quality Management systems along with internal/external auditing experience is also desirable. Excellent communication skills is a must.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
This position is accountable for improving overall quality in the production areas through developing, maintaining, coordinating and executing quality systems for both existing and new products, in a timely and accurate manner, to support SUSPA's business plan, profit goals, and high quality standards.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
General Quality 1. Become the product expert to meet the needs of the SUSPA team, Suppliers, and Customers. 2. Assist in all aspects of the Quality Management System and APQP process. 3. Be a resource for lab relating to measurement methods, programming and measurement equipment used / needed to validate parts and components. 4. Analyze failures and nonconformances to determine the root cause of problem. Work with necessary support teams to create a robust corrective action to prevent recurring problems. Implement the actions necessary to facilitate effective, positive and rapid response to any product failing to meet SUSPA established quality standards. 5. Use the scientific method and other various quality methods (DOE, Affinity Diagrams, Fishbone, 5Y, etc) to resolve problems with products, processes, or systems. Prepares engineering reports to communicate recommendations for gaging, tooling and processing requirements. 6. Assist in the development of Process Flow Diagrams, Potential Failure Mode and Effect Analysis and Control Plans for all product lines. 7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date database files and supportive documentation to ensure accurate information is available on a timely basis to support SUSPA's product quality requirements. 8. Develop and initiate procedures for in-process testing equipment and failure analysis. Recommend, specify, and purchase the measurement and/or test equipment necessary to accurately obtain data pertinent to part quality. 9. Monitor in-process test equipment to assure good working order and proper preventive maintenance schedules are maintained to prevent unnecessary breakdowns. 10. Coordinate through human resource department any training deemed necessary and beneficial to incumbent and departmental employees. 11. Work closely with all departments on new product implementation. In conjunction with Manufacturing Engineering, generate reports for review relating to the manufacturing feasibility. Provide assistance to Manufacturing regarding changes to existing product designs. Assists in establishing realistic tolerances within process capability boundaries. 12. Coordinate product verification for any process changes or improvements to continuously improve quality levels. 13. Support manufacturing process deviations to ensure the quality of the product or process is not negatively impacted. 14. Analyzes customer returns to determine defects. Communicates and coordinates efforts to address systemic defects to reduce future field failures. Coordinates data entry into appropriate computer systems. Performs detailed field failure analysis and reporting as required. 15. Performs internal quality as directed. Assists in implementing SUSPA policy and procedure in keeping with International Standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, 14001, etc.). 16. Promote teamwork and excellence while engaging with all Suppliers, Customers and Co-workers (internal and external). 17. Performs other related tasks as may be requested or assigned outside of job description. Production Quality Specifically 18. Help the Manufacturing Engineers create accurate and meaningful work instructions. 19. Create a 5S mindset with the production teams to eliminate waste. 20. Develop Control Plans to match the Process Flow and
PFMEA. 21.
Assist Manufacturing Engineering in process and facility layouts to optimize process flow and reduce product variation.
