Responsibilities to Anticipate for this RoleThe Quality Engineeris responsible for ensuring products meet the quality standards throughout the manufacturing process, focusing on developing and implementing quality control systems, identifying and resolving issues and improving processes.
Monitor entire production process and perform regular tests to identify potential problems and issues in early stagesInspect materials and systems to find defects and enhance durabilityInvestigate and identify root causes of technical issues and performing problem solving activities (8D, fishbone diagram, Pareto charts, 5-why, etc.) to correct or recommend fixesPrepare reports and/or documentation of malfunctions and corrective actionsReview work instructions and quality documentation for compliance to drawings and customer requirementsSupport and maintain compliance with
May be asked to perform some of the following off-line tasks including quality checks, down-time reporting and housekeeping duties.
Performs other related duties to benefit the mission of the organization or as assigned by your leader.
Interpret specifications and customer requirements.
Supervise hourly quality personnel as needed.
Familiarity with mil-specs, electrical wiring specs and general testing protocols.
Required Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required and 7+ years' experience in quality, quality control or manufacturingBachelor's degree in engineering or another related field preferredSeven plus year experience in manufacturing, quality control or quality engineer required.
Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skillsProfessional persona with exceptional communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to interpret drawings, work instructions, and written work instructions General Dynamics Land Systems is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
