Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Serve as a contact for Quality Assurance for all issues pertaining to the quality of the product. Work in conjunction with all levels of the organization to effect continuous quality improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, apply and maintain quality requirements and standards for development and manufacturing of products. Serve as a Quality Assurance resource to department supervisor(s) for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement. Design, document, and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection, from incoming inspection of supplier's material to the final inspection of company products. Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects, representing Quality Assurance and the customer. This includes providing support during the design and testing phases and submitting the final PPAP to the Customer. Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports. Issue quality alerts Issue deviations to the Production floor, and communicate them with the Customer, as needed. Implements and assists in Preventive and Corrective Actions Participate in company's ISO certification effort. Perform audits throughout all levels of Production to ensure conformity to quality standards and Customer Requirements. Maintain gauge conditions, locations and calibrations for measurement equipment, including scheduling any outside calibration with necessary resources. Develop, execute and analyze quality-reporting measures. Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses. Review and establish supplier quality requirements. This includes reviewing Supplier PPAPs. Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality assurance and assure that effective corrective action is implemented. Serve as the quality assurance representative to materials review function. May compile, write and deliver training material on quality standards and activities. Provide Customer assistance and technical solutions to calls from the field to the Hotline. Work with Customer Service to determine if replacement parts are needed and suspect product returned for evaluation of failure. Review Customer Returns and communicate findings to Customer Service and/or Customer Assist Marketing with reviewing and refining the quality requirements in users manuals and troubleshooting guides. Perform Product testing to support Engineering and testing requirements, including BIFMA requirements. Assist and support Quality Technician throughout the day with tasks, as needed. Other job duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Broad knowledge of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control. Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation. Experience in metal processing and manufacturing. Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen. ISO experience, including ISO documentation. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Must be a team player and able to lead by example. Strong computer skills including QA applications, MS Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint. Knowledge of quality-related aspects of ERP systems, a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering or equivalent (or Associate's Degree in these fields plus minimum 4 years related experience) or minimum 3 years Quality related experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange accurate information with co-workers. The employee will be required to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time as well as traverse within the facility for extended periods of time depending on the project/day. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee will constantly operate equipment and handle material that requires dexterity, grip, and detection of minute details in material using their hands, fingers, tools and/or equipment. The employee may be required to ascend/descend and position themselves around equipment, tools, and fixturing. The employee must frequently move, lift, and/or transport components, tools, and equipment ranging from 10 - 60 pounds. Specific abilities required by this job include the ability to perceive items up close, observe items in the distance, distinguish between colors, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Position will function in an office and manufacturing environment, to support all processes in the organization. Position may be required to travel to Customers and Suppliers when the need arises.
