Job Title:
Quality Engineer Job Description The Quality Engineer will play a pivotal role in supporting new program launches. This includes creating and submitting PPAPs and APQPs, leading 8D and corrective actions meetings, and conducting control plans and PFMEAs. The role requires a balanced focus on pre-production and post-production activities, working closely with internal teams, customers, and suppliers. Responsibilities Serve as the point of contact for Corrective Action Requests (CAR) and other customer-related issues. Actively participate in continuous improvement projects utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles. Establish a robust document control system including SOPs, work instructions, forms, and templates. Perform detailed inspections of incoming raw materials prior to use in production runs. Lead investigations into reported incidents or failures, conduct root cause analyses, implement corrective actions, and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions taken. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that meet customer needs while maintaining cost-effectiveness. Essential Skills Experience working as a Quality Engineer within Automotive Manufacturing (IATF). Experience with machined metal products. 8D experience. Experience doing corrective actions. PPAP, APQP, and PFMEA experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ideally 5+ years of experience. Quality Certification. Experience working with Cast Iron Castings. Quality Engineering Certifications. Work Environment The successful candidate will report to the Quality Manager and General Manager, working alongside a team with two other Quality Engineers. They will closely collaborate with Quality Technicians, Process Engineers, Program Managers, Automation Engineers, and Operations. The work shift is from 7 am, requiring 45-50 hours per week. The company specializes in high-volume automated processes and serves mainly automotive clients such as Toyota, Honda, Volkswagen, and some Tier 2 suppliers to GM. The role offers 10 days of PTO, 6 paid holidays, and access to Udemy after 6 months. The work environment is dynamic, with a strong emphasis on customer service and problem-solving. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of New Troy, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.27/hr.
