REQUIRED
Primary (Must-Have):
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 4+ to 9+ years of relevant automotive validation experience
  • Strong working knowledge of CAN-based communication protocols and analysis tools
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting with electrical diagnostic hardware (multimeters, oscilloscopes)
  • Proven track record developing, maintaining, and executing vehicle-level test plans (DVP&R) Secondary (Good to Have):
  • Knowledge of advanced automotive communication protocols, including CAN-FD and Ethernet protocol
  • Direct experience performing comprehensive System Behavior Testing
  • Background mapping vehicle system requirements to ensure specifications are fully testable
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Validation Engineer to join an onsite engagement based out of Auburn Hills, MI, supporting a major automotive client. This critical role leads electrical feature testing for specific vehicle programs, collaborating directly with suppliers, Program Management, Manufacturing, and cross-functional engineering support teams (systems, wiring, and design release). The incumbent will be responsible for validating vehicle subsystems and resolving complex electrical issues to directly support a successful, high-quality vehicle launch.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans (DVP&R) for electrical features at the vehicle level, covering clusters, radios, body control modules, telematics, and powertrains.
  • Develop and maintain highly functional subsystem test benches to simulate and validate real-world vehicle environments.
  • Conduct thorough root cause analysis of electrical and communication defects found during validation testing.
  • Document, track, and report defects driven by test plan failures, working closely with engineering teams to drive swift resolution.
  • Provide technical feedback on System Requirements to ensure engineering specifications are inherently testable and aligned with quality standards.
