Caterpillar is seeking a Quality Engineer in Brooklyn Park, MN. In this role, you will have responsibilities for Quality Assurance in assigned areas while serving as a site leader for quality process governance, defect prevention, and continuous improvement. The position is a key contributor to Caterpillar's Transform How We Work strategy—modernizing quality engineering through automation, digital tools, and data‑driven processes to enable scalable, proactive quality performance. As a Quality Engineer, you will work closely with Cross-Functional teams to respond to quality issues, lead structured problem solving, & prevent defect recurrence. You will serve as a site leader for Enhanced BIQ (built in quality) and develop/implement plans, tools, dashboards & processes to support the Caterpillar Quality Management System and related processes (Cost of poor quality, certifications, manufacturing practices, APQP, PPAP, etc). What you can look forward to in this role: Support quality issue escalation (andons), rapid response containments and action tracking Work with defect owners on investigations, RCA (root cause analysis), and corrective/preventive action follow‑through Work with all employees to improve quality practices in their processes through quality manners such as daily coaching, tracking Built in Quality (BIQ) projects & Scorecard Actively support 5S/Lean Manufacturing/Class A and SAP and ongoing support, to help area owners set up goals and integrate 5S/Lean Manufacturing Practices with Internal Quality Certification system through standardization and documentation Support Facility quality metrics reporting & lead quality process governance Serve as site owner for a set of quality processes Conduct internal quality audits, facilitate management reviews, etc. Develop training programs, providing training courses of quality topics to employees Modernize quality execution through automation, digital workflows, analytics, and dashboards Apply systems thinking and continuous improvement to proactively prevent defects A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:Collaborating:

Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. Quality Management System (QMS): Knowledge of Quality Management System's (QMS) functions, features, and capabilities; ability to design, implement, test, and maintain Quality Management Systems to consistently meet customer requirements and regulatory compliances.Project Management:
Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.Digital Transformation & Analytics:
Knowledge of digital tools, analytics, and systems thinking; ability to leverage data and technology to drive process optimization, standardization, and continuous improvement. Top Candidates for this position may also have: Strong communication, cooperation, and influence skills to work with all levels of employees and customers Three to five years of experience working with quality concepts including process control, analysis, Caterpillar internal certification principles, and ISO9000 Knowledge of the concepts, principles and techniques of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Experience with quality governance systems and routines (BIQ/eBIQ, AQE, CAV, PIQ or equivalent) Experience modernizing processes using digital tools, automation, analytics, and dashboards Experience supporting manufacturing operations and interpreting specifications, standards, and prints Lean or Six Sigma training or certification (preferred) Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI and/or AI agent deploymentAdditional Information:

$89,210.00 - $133,810.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.Benefits:
