Quality Engineer

Description

• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of products, ensuring integrity, reliability, regulatory compliance, and alignment with specifications.
• Applies total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes within each department. Also, the Book of Knowledge from ASQ.
• Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
• Monitors and enforces the quality system.
• Gathers data and performs problem-solving to control and improve the quality of the production processes.
• Develops and maintains control plans and inspection work instructions.
• Participates and documents problem-solving activities related to quality issues.
• Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
• Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
• Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material, and devises methods to assess responsibility.
• Knowledge on measuring and testing products and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
• Interfaces with procurement, engineering, manufacturing, customer, or vendors to coordinate and resolve quality-related problems.
• Provides computerized status report describing progress and concerns related to inspection activities, nonconforming items, and/or other items related to the quality of the process, material, or product.
• Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
• Maintains a working knowledge of the latest codes and new developments in testing and examination methods of processes, materials, and products.

Skills & Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 2-4 years of quality engineering experience.
• Specific education and training in Quality Disciplines including Corrective Actions, Total Quality Management, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DOE, SPC and Print Reading.
• Familiarity with Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plan Standards.
• PPAP requirements, Dimensional studies, and gage/fixture studies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must comply with all legal, safety, and corporate quality requirements.
• Strong proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing skills).
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of High Point, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
