Job Description
Quality EngineerPosition OverviewWe are seeking a proactive Quality Engineer to ensure the highest quality standards for electrical wire harness assemblies. The role focuses on developing and sustaining quality systems, driving corrective actions, supporting production and supplier quality, and communicating effectively across engineering, manufacturing and customers in both English and Spanish.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement and maintain quality control processes, inspection criteria and control plans for wire harness assemblies and related components.
Lead APQP and PPAP activities, including submission preparation, part approval, and design/process verification.
Conduct process capability studies, MSA, SPC and other data-driven analysis to monitor production performance and drive continuous improvement.
Investigate non-conformances using root cause analysis methods (8D, fishbone, 5-why) and implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurrence.
Perform incoming, in-process and final inspections; create and maintain inspection plans, work instructions and test procedures for electrical harness assemblies.
Support supplier quality management: conduct supplier audits, qualify new suppliers, and collaborate on corrective actions and process improvements.
Coordinate cross-functional teams (manufacturing, engineering, R D, sales) to resolve quality issues and manage customer complaints and field returns.
Train production and inspection personnel on quality standards, measurement techniques and best practices; maintain calibration and traceability for gauges and test equipment.
Assist with product testing including continuity, hipot, resistance, visual inspection and functional tests specific to wire harnesses.
Communicate effectively in both Spanish and English with factory staff, suppliers and customers; translate technical documents and quality reports as required.
QualificationsBachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.3+ years of quality engineering experience in the automotive industry with specific experience in electrical wire harnesses or cable assemblies.
Fluent in both Spanish and English (verbal and written) preferred for daily communication and documentation.
Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and
Proficient with measurement tools and test equipment used for electrical harnesses (multimeters, hipot testers, crimp force gauges, microscopes) and with MS Office; experience with Minitab or similar statistical tools is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work cross-functionally and manage supplier relationships; detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment and travel to supplier sites and customer locations as needed.
Other details:
Will lead a team of 10 Quality Techs.
Average schedule is M-F, 40hrs/week, some Saturdays if needed.

requirements, and experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, MSA and SPC.Demonstrated problem-solving skills with experience leading 8D or similar CAPA investigations and implementing long-term corrective actions.Proficient with measurement tools and test equipment used for electrical harnesses (multimeters, hipot testers, crimp force gauges, microscopes) and with MS Office; experience with Minitab or similar statistical tools is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work cross-functionally and manage supplier relationships; detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
