Job Description

Quality Engineer Location:
Jamestown, ND (Onsite) U.S. Citizenship Required (ITAR) About the Role We're looking for a hands-on Quality Engineer to support a high-impact manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on reducing repeat rejections in a machine shop setting . This role is ideal for someone who thrives on digging into root causes, partnering closely with production teams, and driving measurable improvements in quality and yield. You'll play a key role in strengthening processes, improving first-pass yield, and ensuring products meet strict aerospace and manufacturing standards. What You'll Do Lead efforts to identify and eliminate repeat defects within machining and production processes Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) using tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone, and drive effective corrective actions (CAPA) Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues at the source Analyze scrap, rework, and rejection trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives Develop and maintain quality plans, control plans, and inspection processes Support first article inspections (FAI) and validation of new or updated processes Ensure compliance with
AS9100 / ISO 9001
standards and internal quality systems Participate in and support internal and external audits Review technical drawings and specifications to ensure product and process alignment Act as a quality advocate on the floor , working closely with operators and machinists What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field 3+ years of experience in quality engineering within manufacturing or machining environments Strong experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies Working knowledge of quality systems (AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar) Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T Experience working directly with machine shop processes (CNC, machining, fabrication) Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into actionable improvements Comfortable working cross-functionally and on the production floor Preferred Qualifications Aerospace or defense industry experience CQE, Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and process capability analysis
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
