Job Description:
Job Description (Day to Day Responsibilities): Candidate will function as an active member of the Valley City Quality team, supporting manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives. This individual will work cross-functionally with production, quality techs, and engineering teams to monitor quality performance, investigate issues, and drive corrective actions.
Responsibilities include:
  • Engage with team members on the factory floor to monitor product quality and identify issues
  • Participate in and/or lead Quality Improvement Teams (QITs)
  • Analyze quality data and support performance tracking against key metrics
  • Assist in development and maintenance of dashboards and reporting tools
  • Provide quality support for manufacturing and continuous improvement activities
  • Update and improve process documentation aligned with Quality Management System (QMS) strategy
  • Occasionally provide work direction or coordination support to Quality Tech team members
Specific Tasks:
  • Perform data analysis to monitor quality performance trends
  • Support development of dashboards and reporting tools for quality metrics
  • Report on key metrics including Warranty Fails Per Machine (FPM) and Defects Per Machine (DPM)
  • Support manufacturing operations with root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement (CI) opportunities
  • Update and maintain process documentation and work instructions
  • Assist in coordinating activities with Quality Technicians
  • Support bi-weekly resource and status reporting (hours, progress, risks/issues) Required Capabilities (How will we measure fi t?):
  • Must be able to explain a structured problem-solving approach (e.g., root cause analy sis)
  • Must demonstrate experience working in a team-based environment (academic or interns hip)
  • Must be able to engage effectively with operations teams in a manufacturing set ting
  • Must demonstrate basic understanding of quality systems and continuous improvement conc epts Qualificat ions:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related field (requ ired)
  • Microsoft Excel (data analysis, basic repor ting) Culture Fit (Soft S kills)
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to engage on the manufacturing floor
