Job Title:
Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement Engineer to support quality and continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of operations. The role requires ensuring product quality, process capability, and adherence to Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. The ideal candidate will integrate hands-on quality leadership with data-driven problem solving, Lean Six Sigma methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration to drive operational excellence and sustainable performance improvements. Responsibilities Lead internal inspection activities for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Perform validations, first-piece inspections, and job closeout reviews. Review manufacturing and test documentation for compliance. Monitor and disposition nonconforming material. Maintain inspection standards, gauges, and quality records. Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies such as DMAIC and Kaizen. Conduct root cause analysis using methods like 5 Whys, Fishbone, 3-Legged 5 Why's and 8D. Lead defect reduction initiatives and visual management. Support CAPA and corrective actions. Improve process capability (Cp/Cpk). Lead and facilitate risk assessments using FMEA methodologies (DFMEA and PFMEA). Analyze production and quality data. Track KPIs such as scrap, defect PPM, audit performance, and customer complaint trends. Use Excel/Minitab/JMP for data analysis. Provide insights to leadership. Support and lead the implementation of auditing frameworks like ISO 9001 and GMP. Support audits and document control. Maintain standard work and procedures. Lead Quality Inspectors and support operators. Train personnel on quality standards. Promote a continuous improvement culture. Essential Skills 3-5+ years in manufacturing quality or process improvement. Experience in stamping or discrete manufacturing preferred. Lean/Six Sigma exposure (Green Belt preferred). Knowledge of CAPA, control plans, and root cause analysis. Experience operating within ISO, GMP, and FDA regulatory frameworks, or equivalent QMS. Strong Excel and data analysis skills. Ability to read technical drawings. Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Quality Management Systems like ETQ, MasterControl, Intellect. Work Environment The role involves working in a dynamic manufacturing environment, focusing on quality assurance and continuous improvement. Expect to utilize various technologies and software for data analysis and monitoring. The position requires effective communication and leadership skills to train and support the team while promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Johnstown, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $43.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
